Great piece on simply cheering your kids on no matter what sport they choose. For mine it was always hockey, but they tried baseball, dancing, soccer, football and gymnastics too. If they chosen one of those instead we woulda simply followed their lead and I guess I woulda been a #gymdad or #footballdad. But alas, there’s no doubt #imahockeydad.

Red Tape for Hockey Parents in Ontario
The Ontario Minor Hockey Association has decided to mandate the fee-based Respect in Sport program be taken by all parents. Pretty divisive issue in the game. Yes, a few bad apples are ruining it for the rest of us and one more cost added to an already expensive sport may hurt. I’m likewise torn on this one, but admittedly am glad I’m beyond having to take the course as the Devil is not sanctioned by the OMHA. Time, as always, will tell what effect this program will have. My guess is there will still be bad apples unfortunately, but if it gets rid of a few then it may be worth it.
