The Ontario Minor Hockey Association has decided to mandate the fee-based Respect in Sport program be taken by all parents. Pretty divisive issue in the game. Yes, a few bad apples are ruining it for the rest of us and one more cost added to an already expensive sport may hurt. I’m likewise torn on this one, but admittedly am glad I’m beyond having to take the course as the Devil is not sanctioned by the OMHA. Time, as always, will tell what effect this program will have. My guess is there will still be bad apples unfortunately, but if it gets rid of a few then it may be worth it.
